Description
Chimichurri Starter brings the traditional flavors of Argentinian cuisine to your home kitchen. Whisked with water and olive oil to recreate a classic condiment, it’s crafted to brighten the taste of grilled beef and poultry with tangy tomatillos, herbs, and onion.
While the exact origins of traditional chimichurri sauce are a bit unclear, many food historians believe it was invented by Argentinian nomadic horsemen and cowherds known as “gauchos” who used the sauce to flavor meat cooked over open fires. With lore and folk heroism similar to the American cowboy or Caribbean pirates, gaucho culture flourished from the mid-18th to mid-19th centuries in both Argentina and Uruguay. Gaucho culture produced its own distinct music, literature known as “la Literatura Gauchesca,” and culinary traditions that have become inextricable from Argentinian culture as a whole. Although gaucho culture has evolved, modern cowhands still often wear the traditional gaucho uniform.
Curious Spoon’s Chimichurri Starter is the perfect sauce to accompany all of your summer barbecues. Use it to marinate your beef before grilling or as a finishing sauce atop grilled chicken or fish.
