Chakalaka Chicken & Vegetables

Although it originated in South Africa’s largest city, Johannesburg, chakalaka’s flavors and ingredients were highly influenced by Portuguese colonial rule as South African locals began to incorporate Portuguese culinary traditions into their own.
Our chakalaka chicken and vegetable recipe features Curious Spoon’s Chakalaka Chicken & Vegetables Sheet Pan Starter, a delicious blend of spices including cumin, coriander, oregano, onion, red bell pepper, garlic, salt, turmeric, and mustard. This delicious dish makes for the perfect lunch or dinner filling meal that the whole family will love.

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup (1 packet) Curious Spoon Chakalaka Seasoning
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 lbs. boneless Chicken Breast or Thighs
- 3 cups mix of Sweet Potatoes, Broccoli, and Red Onions, chopped

For added color and flavor, place the sheet pan under the broiler for the last 5 minutes of cooking to get some extra char!
Directions:

Prep all ingredients. Preheat oven to 400F.

Line sheet pan with foil and spray with non-stick cooking spray.

Combine chicken, vegetables, oil, and Curious Spoon Chakalaka Chicken & Vegetable Sheet Pan Starter in large bowl. Toss thoroughly to coat.

Spread seasoned chicken and vegetables on sheet pan evenly with chicken in center and vegetables along outside.

Bake 30 minutes until chicken is cooked through and vegetables are tender.
